Galaxy Note 5 leak: High-quality photos give us another closeup view

There will be few if any surprises when Samsung finally launches its Galaxy Note 5 this month. Droid Life has posted some brand-new leaked photos of the Galaxy Note 5 that give us a fresh look at the upcoming phablet that Samsung will announce during an Unpacked event on August 13th.

As you can see, the device really does look like it will be a larger version of the Galaxy S6 released earlier this year. The photos match up perfectly with the Galaxy Note 5 press renders that leaked earlier this week so it’s a good bet that these pictures are legit.

Droid Life sharply observes that this device has a Galaxy Edge-like curve along the edge of the back panel that will supposedly make the device easier to hold. Droid Life’s sources claim that like the Galaxy S6, the new device will not feature a microSD card slot, which will be disappointing to many longtime Samsung users.

According to the most recently leaks, we expect the Note 5 to feature a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED QHD display and metal-and-glass design that won high acclaim with the Galaxy S6 when it released earlier this year. Other specs for the device will reportedly include 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM, a brand-new chipset called the Exynos 7422 SoC, and support for wireless charging that will be compatible with both WPC and PMA standards.
